When the holiday season rolls around in Newport Beach, things look a little different than your typical winter wonderland. We trade heavy snowdrifts for crisp ocean breezes, puffy winter coats for cozy beach sweaters, and beautiful Bay for the twinkling reflection of the Newport Harbor Christmas Boat Parade.

If you are looking for a unique, memorable, and stress-free way to celebrate with friends, family, or coworkers this year, it’s time to trade the traditional holiday party for a paintbrush.

Whether you are hosting an intimate gathering at your home on Balboa Island, planning an office holiday party, entertaining visitors at a local vacation rental, celebrating residents of your community, a mobile painting experience brings the festive cheer directly to you. SoCal Paint Parties takes care of everything—supplies, setup, and step-by-step guidance—so you can focus on the bubbly and the behavior of your canvas.

To jumpstart your holiday planning, we’ve rounded up our top 5 festive paint party themes that perfectly blend holiday magic with our signature Orange County coastal vibe.

1. Surfin' Santa & Palm Tree Lights

Who says Santa only rides a sleigh? In Newport Beach, we like to think he catches a few waves before his big night. This theme features a cheerful Santa ready to surf the iconic Wedge Balboa Peninsula, along all the classic SoCal palm trees wrapped in vibrant, twinkling holiday string lights. It’s playful, distinctly Californian, and makes for the perfect conversation-starting holiday decor.

2. The Iconic Balboa Pavilion & Festive Harbor

Capture the true heart of Newport Beach with a painting of the historic Balboa Pavilion at the Balboa Peninsula Fun Zone. Decorated with glowing lights all year round, this landmark comes alive on your canvas alongside the beautiful, shimmering bay waters. In this theme, you'll paint a charming sailboat gliding across the ocean water right in front of the pavilion's classic white arches and cupola. Signed with a touch of "Sparkle," it’s the ultimate Newport Beach keepsake that celebrates our local coastal heritage and timeless harbor views.

3. Sea Glass Winter Wonderland

If you love a classic winter aesthetic but want it to match your home’s coastal interior design, this is the palette for you. Instead of stark white and deep evergreen, this theme uses sea glass blues, soft teals, sandy creams, and metallic gold accents to create a serene, beachy "snowy" pine forest. It’s elegant, calming, and brings a subtle festive touch to your space.

5. "Brushes & Bubbles" Vintage Holiday Camper

Tap into pure nostalgia with a vintage teardrop trailer or VW bus loaded up with a fresh Christmas tree, parked right on a snowy beach lol. This beginner-friendly theme pairs perfectly with a glass of champagne or a warm mug of spiked hot cocoa. It’s whimsical, incredibly fun to paint, and highly customizable.

Why Host a Private Mobile Paint Party This Season?

The holidays are notoriously busy, and planning an event can feel like a second job. That’s why a mobile paint party is the ultimate holiday party hack:

• Zero-Stress Setup & Cleanup: We bring the canvases, easels, paints, aprons, and drop cloths. When the party is over, we pack it all up and leave your space exactly how we found it.

• No Experience Required: Many people feel intimidated by a blank canvas. Our expert instructors break every painting down into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Even your "non-artistic" friends will leave amazed by what they created.

• Built-In Party Favor: Your guests don’t just leave with memories; they leave with a custom piece of holiday art they can display year after year.
